In operation from late 1642 to July 16, 1644 when the town surrendered after a siege. Issues are identified by a lion mintmark or "EBOR" (Eboracum, Latin for York), with dates 1643-44. Original production is estimated at 25,000-50,000 coins with about 600-900 surviving. Issues include Halfpounds, Crowns, Halfcrowns, Shillings, Sixpences, Groats and Threepences.
