Aberystwyth (Dovey) Furnace

Authorized as a mint in 1647 it ceased operations at the death of Charles I and dies were surrendered in February 1649. Surviving coins are rare, and this mint is known to have produced halfcrowns, sixpence, groats, threepence and halfgroats. Coins typically have a crown mintmark.
